Sewing your own bra can be intimidating…

We’re here to change that! Learn everything from bra sizing, material functionality, to fitting, pattern modifications, as well as tips and tricks for sewing a clean finished bra.

You will leave Bra Camp not only with a bra, but also with new skills, knowledge, and friendships!

 

Location

Bra Camp will take place in my beautiful sewing studio in Vallejo, CA. You will enjoy a grand view of Mt. Diablo while you sew!

 
 

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

  • Bra Making Workshop (16 hour, 2-day workshop)

  • Bra making kit with lace and all required findings and elastics from Tailor Made Shop

  • 1 spool of matching thread

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Sewing machine (if you can’t bring one, we can organize one for you!)

  • Purchased Bra underwires

  • Purchased Harriet Bra Pattern

  • Rotary Cutter (recommended: 18mm or 28mm but bigger will also work!) 

  • Fabric Scissors

  • Paper Scissors

  • Disappearing Ink Fabric Pen

  • Sewing Pins 

  • Measuring Tape

  • Notebook and Pencil

  • Lunch

 

SKILL LEVEL:

You should know how to work a sewing machine and feel confident in handling small, slippery pieces of fabric.

 

BRA CAMP BREAKDOWN:

In Preparation for Bra Camp:

Before coming to camp you’ll need to purchase the Harriet Bra pattern in your size range and the right size underwires. You will receive detailed written instructions on how to measure and choose the correct bra and underwire size after you’ve signed up.

Saturday, February 25th, 10am - 5pm

We will start the day going over all the materials needed to make a bra. Bella will provide sample bras in all cup sizes that you can try on to find your correct size.

Everyone will have the opportunity to have a one-on-one private fitting with Bella. Together you will assess the fit and make the necessary modifications to your paper pattern. You may also assess the fit on your own. Whatever makes you feel comfortable!

Sunday, February 26th 10am - 5pm

Sewing the bra.

Bella will teach you construction methods for a beautifully finished bra.

 

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, Isabella Serrano has been sewing almost her entire life. Since sewing her own stuffed animals at the age of five, she has dabbled in all kinds of sewing! She discovered bra making and quickly became obsessed with it. Learning to sew bras that fit her body was one of the most liberating moments in her sewing career.

Her biggest passion is spreading the joy of sewing with others. She hosts an online bespoke tailoring workshops as well as sharing sewing tutorials on her Instagram and Youtube channel.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

We will not be able to issue refunds for this workshop. You can transfer the workshop to a friend if you notify us in advance. No refunds or credit will be given for late arrivals or no-shows. In the circumstance that the studio needs to cancel the event, a full refund will be issued within 10 days of cancellation. 

COVID POLICY:

We are fully vaccinated here. Masks are not required, but are encouraged for those who wish to wear a mask. If you are sick we ask you not to come.
